Zach Field, Graphic Design Supervisor
Describe what you do at ¶¶Òñ¶ÌÊÓƵ.
I create and concept designs for the Marketing Department and oversee Marketing’s group of graphic designers.
Now, describe what you do like you are meeting someone at church or at a party.
I make pictures and create resources to help sell our products and services. Basically I make ads.
How long have you worked at ¶¶Òñ¶ÌÊÓƵ?
Five and a half years
What made you start working at ¶¶Òñ¶ÌÊÓƵ?
The production plant, where I started, was located in a small, affordable town that was close enough to bear the commute while I saved money to move.
What is the coolest thing you get to do at work?
Whenever I get the chance to illustrate, that’s the coolest.
What is your favorite work story to tell?
When I first started I was right out of college and looked very young. As a cover artist, we often went to different schools to meet with yearbook classes to design their covers. On more than one occasion I was yelled at by teachers for not being in class.
What makes you want to come to work every day?
Being able to see things that I create in the real world.
What would you be doing if you were not at work?
Drawing comics, playing video games or watching Survivor.
Pretend I’m a customer and you are working on a project for me. What would you like me to know about you?
I love learning new things in art and design so don’t be afraid to ask for something even if I’ve never done it before.
What does working at ¶¶Òñ¶ÌÊÓƵ mean to you?
¶¶Òñ¶ÌÊÓƵ has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of great people from different backgrounds, many of which I’d be worse off without.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to a person who is looking for help on how to deal with our current times, with regard to your area of expertise?
Always be willing to grow and learn new things. Design is an ever evolving field and remaining static will limit your personal and professional growth.
